<title>Here&#x27;s why the Huffington Post continues to give HA Goodman a platform</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2016/4/12/1514201/-Here-s-why-the-Huffington-Post-continues-to-employ-HA-Goodman</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;If I am a janitor and I cannot fix stuff or do a poor job cleaning the premises, I would eventually get fired.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;If am an accountant who does a poor job counting money, likewise.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;If a journalist keeps predicting dumb things (and getting it wrong) such as, &#x201C;Bernie is gonna win South Carolina and Nevada and he will be President even if Hillary wins more delegates) he should be fired for incompetence.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;But H. A. Goodman stuff gets lots of readers and retweets and diaries and threads online. The Huffington Post sacrifices the quality of the product they put out there for its readers, focusing instead of the money generated by readership, which advertisers love.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Plus it comes at no financial cost, as it&#x2019;s been reported that Goodman earns $0.00 for his contributions, salary-wise.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Journalist: DOJ just handed Bernie Sanders the Presidency</title>

<title>H. A. Goodman nailed the results!</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2016/2/20/1488393/-H-A-Goodman-nailed-the-results</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;I hear a lot of people,especially Clinton supporters, make fun of and belittle the Huffington Post analyst on the grounds that he knows not what he talks about.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;But Goodman nailed the results when,a month ago,he wrote an article titled &#x22;&#xA0;Bernie Sanders Will Win Iowa, &#x3C;strong&#x3E;New Hampshire&#x3C;/strong&#x3E;, Nevada and South Carolina. Here&#x27;s Why.&#x22;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Please focus on the bold state.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;&#xA0;&#xA0;&#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.huffingtonpost.com/h-a-goodman/bernie-sanders-will-win-iowa-new-hampshire-nevada-and-south-carolina_b_9006862.html&#x22; target=&#x22;_blank&#x22;&#x3E;www.huffingtonpost.com/...&#x3C;/a&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Sanders DID win New Hampshire.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;It is time we learned to recognize Goodman for what he is: a top-notch analyst.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>It&#x27;s the swing states, stupid!</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/12/7/1457676/-It-s-the-swing-states-stupid</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Few political quotes have enjoyed longer legs and spun off&#xA0;more versions than the Clinton attack dog, Ragin&#x27; Cajun Carville&#x27;s, &#xA0;&#x201C;It&#x2019;s the economy, stupid!&#x201D; This political season has yet to find its future iconic phrase and I&#x2019;m not feeling especially creative right now, so why not borrow a quote from a guy whose paymasters are back in political ascendancy? And like to whom Carville was shouting to &#x2014; fellow Democrats &#x2014; the following needs to be shouted most loudly to Democrats:&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;strong&#x3E;It&#x2019;s the swing states, stupid!!!&#x3C;/strong&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;strong&#x3E;&#x200B;&#x3C;/strong&#x3E;&#x200B;I don&#x2019;t care about national polls when it comes to the general presidential election. They mean nothing and they translate into nothing electorally. The vast majority of states are cold hard concrete in terms of being red or blue. The only states that matter are the swing states, especially Ohio, Florida, and Pennsylvania. The trending in these states tell us who can and who cannot win national office, and on this point Hillary Clinton supporters and the Democratic Party establishment&#xA0;have been stunning in their refusal to rationally address a major problem with the Clinton candidacy, Clinton is seen as untrustworthy and dishonest in every single swing state according to Quinnipiac and as repeated by H.A. Goodman in Huffington Post back&#xA0;on October 26&#xA0;(no link, sorry, the &#x22;selected text&#x22; mechanism when linking a quote still does not work in DK5).&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;blockquote&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;strong&#x3E;Colorado&#x3C;/strong&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Colorado voters say 62 - 34 percent that Hillary Clinton is not honest and trustworthy; 52 - 46 percent that she has strong leadership qualities and 57 - 39 percent that she &#x3C;strong&#x3E;does not care about their needs and problems&#x3C;/strong&#x3E;.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;strong&#x3E;Iowa &#x3C;/strong&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Hillary Clinton is not honest and trustworthy, Iowa voters say 59 - 33 percent. She is a strong leader, voters say 52 - 43 percent, but she &#x3C;strong&#x3E;does not care about their needs and problems&#x3C;/strong&#x3E;, voters say 55 - 39 percent.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;strong&#x3E;Virginia&#x3C;/strong&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Hillary Clinton is not honest and trustworthy, Virginia voters say 55 - 39 percent. She is a strong leader, voters say 54 - 42 percent, but she &#x3C;strong&#x3E;does not care about their needs and problems&#x3C;/strong&#x3E;, voters say 50 - 45 percent.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;strong&#x3E;Florida&#x3C;/strong&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Clinton gets a negative 37 - 55 percent favorability rating and voters say 64 - 32 percent she is &#x3C;strong&#x3E;not honest and trustworthy&#x3C;/strong&#x3E;.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;strong&#x3E;Ohio&#x3C;/strong&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Ohio voters give Clinton a negative 36 - 54 percent favorability rating and say 60 - 34 percent she is &#x3C;strong&#x3E;not honest and trustworthy&#x3C;/strong&#x3E;.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;strong&#x3E;Pennsylvania&#x3C;/strong&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Pennsylvania voters give Clinton a negative 38 - 55 percent favorability rating and say 63 - 32 percent she is &#x3C;strong&#x3E;not honest and trustworthy&#x3C;/strong&#x3E;.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;/blockquote&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Quinnipiac correctly focuses on the swing states because, well, they are smarter than the rest of us about what matters, as they explain in the summary of their October 7 press release:&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;blockquote&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;The Swing State Poll focuses on Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania because since 1960 no candidate has won the presidential race without taking at least two of these three states.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;/blockquote&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;And in that Quinnipiac poll things look particularly dire for both Clinton (and Trump) if one thinks favorability matters.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;blockquote&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;Clinton and Trump continue to have the worst overall favorability ratings among all voters of any of the leading candidates, and the lowest scores for being honest and trustworthy...&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;/blockquote&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Congratulations Democrats, just like the Right, you too are determined to forward as our nominee the one candidate least trusted by swing state voters. Orwell would be so proud of all your 180 degree distortion about who&#x27;s most electable. I only wish I could read even one serious attempt by any HRC supporter on DKos to address this massive hole in their argument, especially vis a vis Sanders in her place in a general. Do people seriously think California would suddenly flip for a Republican if Bernie was the nominee? Again, most states are completely baked, only the swing states matters and if there is no general election path for Hillary in ANY swing state, much less all of them, unless and only unless Trump is the nominee on the other side, then why the hell do her supports continue to call her the &#x3C;em&#x3E;most&#x3C;/em&#x3E; electable? Hell, she is not electable at all short of Trump being the Republican nominee.&#xA0;Meanwhile, in those same swing states, when you put Bernie in place of Hillary in EVERY possible match up from the other side he wins. And yet he is &#x3C;em&#x3E;not&#x3C;/em&#x3E; electable?&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Maybe this is what has been frustrating me most, is what I view as political denial coming from our side that&#x2019;s almost as glaring as the Right&#x2019;s denial of climate change. What has most discombobulated me my entire life is irrationality, and what I&#x2019;m seeing now is stunning.&#xA0; It is so crazy, basic physics practically demands an answer. The only one I can even&#xA0;imagine as being correct has to be the distorting influence of money (including the media funded by that money) is somehow making normally sane and logical people intellectually&#xA0;impaired, like placing the body politic in a fun house hall of mirrors.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Maybe I&#x2019;m all wrong. Maybe&#xA0;I&#x2019;m the impaired one, partially incapacitated by all the disinformation ricocheting from every political corner, or the oxygen deprivation of being triangulated to death. Maybe I&#x2019;m too charged with the&#xA0;adrenalin flooding my system as I&#x2019;m being backed into a corner by people who pretend to be allies to think clearly. Maybe as a veteran I&#x2019;m just to sensitive to people would never dare serve --&#xA0;and some who even turn their noses up at military people &#x2014; being so keen to vote for someone who made politically expedient&#xA0;decisions that cost many their lives.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Swing states. Swing states. Swing states. Who wants to explain to me why swing states suddenly no longer matter?&#xA0;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;[Diarist&#x2019;s note: All this really reveals the lunacy that is American politics because it looks like the primary voters in both parties are determined to forward their most&#xA0;disliked and distrusted&#xA0;candidates as their party&#x2019;s choice to lead the most powerful nation on earth at time when&#xA0;mass extinction within the next lifetime or two&#xA0;is no longer considered hyperbole due to the policies pursued by the Establishment in both parties. Indeed, America truly is exceptional.]&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Top analyst: Clinton will finished third in Iowa, behind Sanders and O&#x27;Malley</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/12/6/1457394/-Top-analyst-Clinton-will-finished-third-in-Iowa-behind-Sanders-and-O-Malley</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;The prestigious H. A. &#xA0;Goodman of Huffington Post predicts &#xA0;a Sanders victory in Iowa, followed by O&#x2019;Malley in second place and Hillary on third, because 1) She is a moderate and 2) She finished third in Iowa in 2008.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;When a political scienlist of Goodman&#x2019;s stature speaks, we should take his word seriously.&#xA0;&#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.huffingtonpost.com/h-a-goodman/hillary-clinton-will-fini_b_8717248.html&#x22; target=&#x22;_blank&#x22;&#x3E;www.huffingtonpost.com/...&#x3C;/a&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
