Although he hasn’t (yet) been arrested, Curtiss has had a hand in both Bundy family-led standoffs in Oregon and Nevada. The former Idaho police officer arrived at the Oregon standoff with his own branch of Y’All Qaeda, only to be rebuffed by Ammon Bundy. Not content to let Bundy have the spotlight to himself, Brandon and his crew embedded themselves into the community of Burns, Oregon, making life hell for residents. Staying at the same hotel as the now-indicted Pete Santilli, the Curtiss-led crew kept an eye on law enforcement activity, reporting on the activities of residents and elected officials, and even <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5w99LTKEA0" target="_blank">confronting FBI agents at their temporary compound in Oregon.</a> Curtiss said they didn’t support the occupation, they were merely providing a self-described “security perimeter” between law enforcement and the militant occupants of the Malheur Wildlife Refuge.</p> <figure class="image-captioned align-right"><img alt="Brandon Curtiss" src="http://images.dailykos.com/images/230379/large/brandoncurtiss_copy.jpg?1459185696" title="Brandon Curtiss"> <figcaption>Brandon Curtiss doing an interview in Burns, Oregon</figcaption> </figure> <p>In theory, Brandon Curtiss’ Idaho III%-ers were going to intervene if the feds tried to arrest Ammon Bundy. Instead, they were nowhere to be found when Bundy’s crew were picked up on their way to a neighboring county, something that has become controversial among other Faketriots nationwide, who noted their curious absence during the arrests. </p> <p>With many of his friends in federal custody and his militant sympathizers questioning his tactics and/or motives, things took another turn for the worse this week when he was forced to file for federal bankruptcy……..again. It seems his property management company has been fraught with mismanagement and/or fraud from the start. From the <a href="http://www.idahostatesman.com/news/local/community/west-ada/article68581597.html" target="_blank">Idaho Statesman:</a></p> <blockquote> <p>The owner of Curtiss Property Management in Meridian, Curtiss told the reporter he managed 100 to 150 properties, yet records show he has left a trail of unpaid bills and was sued by the owners of two properties he managed for failing to turn over rent money he collected from apartment residents.</p> <p>Three weeks after speaking to The Oregonian reporter, <strong>Curtiss filed for bankruptcy protection — for the third time.</strong> In a deposition for one of the lawsuits he said there were no shareholder payouts because the management firm “is not a profitable company.”</p> </blockquote> <p>Emphasis added. Third time filing bankruptcy? So much for personal responsibility. Much of the debt appears to be from financing his militia hobby. The Meridian couple claims debts of $235,000, with listed assets of $13,230. This filing follows a 2009 bankruptcy in which Curtiss owed about $140,000 and a 2001 filing from which documents are not available.</p> <p>The bulk of Curtiss’ $186,286 in credit card debt, collection agency charges and bank loans were incurred between 2013 and 2015, according to bankruptcy court documents. Of that, $84,458 was for vehicle leases taken out in 2014 and 2015: a 2015 Dodge Ram pickup, a 2012 Chrysler car and a 2014 Open Range travel trailer. The pickup and the trailer were leased by the property management company, which is not involved in the bankruptcy.</p> </blockquote> <p>The <em>Idaho Statesman</em> also notes there was significant medical debt and outstanding child support. According of a Facebook post from Bradon Curtiss, the leader of the Pacific Patriots Network and member of the Idaho III% militia, they were gathered for a meeting and then members of the group decided to hit the gun range together. Unfortunately, the 12-year-old daughter of a militia member was <a href="https://www.facebook.com/laststandforfreedom/posts/974088419339442" target="_blank">struck by a bullet at the gun range:</a></p> <blockquote> <p>Sharing a post from Brandon Curtiss from Pacific Patriots Network.</p> <p>Ok family, one of our own is in need of much needed prayers and support. After a county meeting today in the idaho 3% several members wanted to shoot at the Rupert gun range. While clearing a weapon there was an accidental discharge, the bullet hit the metal table under the canopy area and then ricocheted where it then struck the 12 year old daughter of Sean Odie O'Donahue in the stomach then exiting through her side. She was taken by life flight to Pocatello where she is getting ready to undergo surgery. OPB reached David Fry, one of the four occupiers left at the refuge, by cellphone Sunday morning. He said the FBI has disconnected most of their cellphones. He told OPB that only he can receive calls and none of them can make calls. He also told OPB that internet access was disconnected.</span></p> </blockquote> <p>Over the weekend, the “Pacific Patriot Network” held an obnoxious rally in downtown Burns, a role rally that had them driving several laps around the city’s center, blaring their horns and screaming out the windows. Brandon Curtiss was part of the heavily armed crew that has been in Oregon since early January to “provide security” for Ammon Bundy. She and 10 other participants in the occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon have been charged with conspiracy to impede federal officers from their official duties through use of force, intimidation or threats.</p> <p>Cox's husband said he wasn't sure why she was released.</p> </blockquote> <p>She’s reportedly being fit for a GPS-enabled ankle bracelet today and will head back to her home in Utah. Not long after her release, she did a defiant interview <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9j78aMNseCM" target="_blank" title="">on periscope</a> to insist that LaVoy Finicum had been murdered, although she did confirm that he was yelling “Why don’t you shoot me?!” in the deadly confrontation.
