<title>Kavanaugh&#x2019;s buddies wrote insanely misogynist newsletter column about Dr. Ford&#x2019;s high school</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2018/10/3/1801144/-Kavanaugh-s-buddies-wrote-insanely-misogynist-newsletter-column-about-Dr-Ford-s-high-school</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;By now you have probably heard a bit about Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh&#x2019;s &#x201C;Beach Week&#x201D; letter, written by&#xA0;&#x201C;Bart&#x201D; Kavanaugh in 1983 to his crew of friends.&#xA0;&#x3C;a href=&#x22;https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2018/10/2/1800985/-Kavanaugh-beach-week-letter-surfaces-and-it-makes-his-Senate-testimony-look-even-worse&#x22; target=&#x22;_blank&#x22; title=&#x22;&#x22;&#x3E;It concerns an Ocean City, Maryland, condo Kavanaugh and his friends were renting for a big party week. &#x3C;/a&#x3E;The letter includes all of the crass, sexist, and alcohol-drenched&#xA0;culture&#xA0;numerous witnesses have attested was the life of Brett Kavanaugh in the 1980s.&#xA0;It paints a picture so contradictory to Kavanaugh&#x2019;s Senate Judicial Hearing testimony&#xA0;that the only question left is how many times one person can perjure himself and not actually end up in jail&#x2014;let alone on the land&#x2019;s highest court?&#xA0;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;One of the tidbits inside a &#x3C;a href=&#x22;https://www.nytimes.com/2018/10/02/us/brett-kavanaugh-georgetown-prep.html&#x22; target=&#x22;_blank&#x22; title=&#x22;&#x22;&#x3E;&#x3C;em&#x3E;New York Times&#x3C;/em&#x3E; article about the letter&#x3C;/a&#x3E; is a reference to an &#x201C;underground newspaper&#x201D; at Georgetown Prep&#xA0;called &#x3C;em&#x3E;The Unknown Hoya&#x3C;/em&#x3E;.&#xA0;It was a passion project that Kavanaugh&#x2019;s classmates, including&#xA0;Mark Judge&#x2014;alleged by Dr. Christine Ford as the other man in the room during her&#xA0;sexual assault&#x2014;wrote for secret distribution among&#xA0;the student body. In it, Judge and two other students would have lots of fun, tallying beer kegs drunk at parties throughout the year and ripping on a neighboring&#xA0;all-girls school,&#xA0;the alma mater of Dr. Christine Ford, Holton-Arms. The &#x3C;em&#x3E;Times &#x3C;/em&#x3E;reproduces an article from this little newspaper, entitled &#x201C;The Truth About Holton.&#x201D;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>And a pall fell over the room...</title>

Maryland State Education Association Conference, Ocean City Maryland
&#x3C;p&#x3E;When Princess Moss, Secretary-Treasurer of NEA, held a breakout session at 3:15 pm to explain the endorsement process of Hillary Clinton, basically a kickoff statement for the coming campaign.......the room fell silent at a juncture clearly intended to be an applause line. Not one whoop or clap. Dead silence.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;br /&#x3E;
&#x3C;br /&#x3E;
There is a new business item on the agenda today to negate the NEA national endorsement of Hillary Clinton in Maryland. Keep in mind, this is the Maryland State Education Association Representative Assembly. It is made up of elected Delegates from locals across the state. MSEA is a heavily women-dominated body because teachers are mostly women. Think on that.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Fun with Highways: Washington, DC and Maryland</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/4/2/1080110/-Fun-with-Highways-Washington-DC-and-Maryland</link>
<description>
&#x3C;p&#x3E;Our next edition of the Primary Highways series visits Washington, DC and Maryland. &#x26;nbsp;We briefly explore the cities of Washington and Baltimore, and also extend to the eastern and western ends of Maryland. &#x26;nbsp;It is another installment that tends to be more urban, given the locations and my interests.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;As always, comments on the article and on additional places to visit in the states (or districts as the case may be) are quite welcome. &#x26;nbsp;And thanks for the continued support of this series.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;I will also cover Wisconsin in a separate article this week.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;[&#x3C;i&#x3E;Also posted on &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.ptank.com/blog/2012/04/fun-with-highways-washington-dc-and-maryland/&#x22;&#x3E;catsynth.com&#x3C;/a&#x3E;&#x3C;/i&#x3E;, with additional images.]&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
