&#x3C;p&#x3E;By dictating the rules for the media, who turned into nothing other than celebrity-chasing paparazzi, Sarah Palin performed the ultimate &#x22;gotcha&#x22; in a deft ability to manipulate a willing the media.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Just Looking </title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2010/11/21/920289/-Just-Looking</link>
<description>
&#x3C;p&#x3E;I have a few pleasant photography stories to tell from a week ago. Between the autumn color and the desperation of one last warm weather week, it was a good week for a photo buff. Now don&#x27;t go busting my bubble by just looking at the photos because you can learn a lot from a photographer. We see things.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;img src=&#x22;http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f28/edc3/Central%20Park/DSCN3676.jpg&#x22; /&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;Below you will find a &#x3C;i&#x3E;Third Rock from the Sun&#x3C;/i&#x3E; brief encounter during an evening walk in the Village. I have several memories from a lecture I attended on photojournalism. There is a pleasant Veterans Day walk under the George Washington Bridge on the New Jersey side followed by a sunset from the New York side. Then a Friday afternoon walk in Central Park with some music videos I made and all day Saturday there too. There is even a little taste of Florence, Italy.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Media Mistakes Own Swarming Toward Press Conference As Jackson Mourner Procession</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/6/25/746918/-Media-Mistakes-Own-Swarming-Toward-Press-Conference-As-Jackson-Mourner-Procession</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Forgive me if my tone is flippant, but I can&#x27;t help being amused by something reported on KTLA: Helicopter footage of large crowds of people migrating down the street were speculated upon as being a spontaneous movement of Jackson fans. &#x26;nbsp;The anchors speculated on the nature of this mysterious phenomenon for some time, occasionally straying into strange and ethereal philosophizing, until closer footage and subsequent coverage revealed the crowd consisted overwhelmingly of reporters moving toward a press conference whose location had been changed. &#x26;nbsp;Hundreds and hundreds of reporters, photographers, technical crew, and assorted paparazzi. &#x26;nbsp; &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Is the Secret Service doing its job?</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/12/22/676341/-Is-the-Secret-Service-doing-its-job</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://voices.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/12/22/paparazzi_photog_gets_a_pec-ta.html?wprss=the-trail&#x22;&#x3E;Many are salivating at Obama, his gams and abs, but many are wondering how in the HELL did this photographer take these pictures? &#x26;nbsp;Or even get close.&#x3C;/a&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Well, the photographer was walking along the beach (it is public property) and he was about 200 feet from the Obamas.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;The Bush &#x22;Shoe&#x22; incident sent questions and shivers about the Secret Service protection and their job. Remember, this organization is the one who should not be surprised or shocked at anything. So, why was this photographer, who is paparazzo allowed such close access?&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;And I am sure the Obamas while used to this, are probably pissed. This is their vacation time, after a long and arduous primary and election season. Plus, it is the secret service who is suppose to make sure this stuff does not happen. Right?&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Not that many of you care. . .</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/2/16/457934/-Not-that-many-of-you-care</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;. . .about the havoc of the lives of celebrities and stars resulting from the irresponsible antics of paparazzi; I certainly don&#x27;t. &#x26;nbsp;I really give nary a shit about the media crises of Britney, Tom, Paris, Matthew, Lindsay, Courtney, or any of the other media nonpersonalities. &#x26;nbsp;I see them as getting more of what they bargained for in seeking fame and fortune, albeit no longer on their own terms. &#x26;nbsp;I&#x27;m more sympathetic to the Princess Dianas and most Kennedys who really want to remain private persons, but are thrust into the public spotlight by their political situations. &#x26;nbsp;Still, I see great foolhardiness in legal remedies such as the &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol/arts_and_entertainment/music/article3341791.ece&#x22;&#x3E;20-yard &#x22;personal safety bubble&#x22;&#x3C;/a&#x3E; of &#x22;Britney Law.&#x22;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;I&#x27;ve got another idea altogether, after the fold.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Will hunger for celebrity kill Britney Spears?</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/1/19/439571/-Will-hunger-for-celebrity-kill-Britney-Spears</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;em&#x3E;And, if so, who is to blame?&#x3C;/em&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Original post at &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://snafuprinciple.blogspot.com/2008/01/will-hunger-for-celebrity-kill-britney.html&#x22;&#x3E;the s.n.a.f.u. principle&#x3C;/a&#x3E;. &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Noticed two related stories on the Media Bistro News Feed that were actually placed together without irony or comment:
&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;blockquote&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;AP Has &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.usmagazine.com/exclusive_associated_press_has_written_britney_spears_obituary&#x22;&#x3E;Written&#x3C;/a&#x3E; Britney Spears&#x27; Obituary (Us)
&#x3C;br /&#x3E;The Associated Press began preparing Britney Spears&#x27; obituary within the past month. &#x22;We are not wishing it, but if Britney passed away, it&#x27;s easily one of the biggest stories in a long time,&#x22; AP entertainment editor Jesse Washington said. &#x22;I think one would agree that Britney seems at risk right now.&#x22; &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D8U7NE2G0&#x26;amp;show_article=1&#x22;&#x3E;AP&#x3C;/a&#x3E;: Four paparazzi arrested for chasing Britney.
&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;/blockquote&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;There is a great deal going on here, &#x26;nbsp;which I&#x27;d like to comment upon.
&#x3C;br /&#x3E;More below...&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
