Where have all the flowers gone? is one of my favorite songs. The question today is "Where have all the jobs gone?" The answer is fairly simple, corporations, the rich, and the powerful, have killed the jobs in a mistaken belief that killing jobs will make them even wealthier. The sad truth is that killing jobs will make them poorer and worse impoverish the rest of us. Yes the gap between the wealthy and the rest of us will be greater, but the wealth of us all will plunge. When will the corporations, the rich and the powerful ever lean? I have no idea.

I watched President Obama in Michigan. The words Too little; too late; kept going through my head. On the order of a trillion dollars a year over five years needs to be invested into this country to increase the wealth of the country so that we can all benefit from a more productive economy. I don't mean a trillion dollars in tax cuts, I mean a trillion dollars in non defense government spending on education, infrastructure, green energy, transportation, research, development, communications, . . . I mean serious money for a serious recovery that will not only employ all who can benefit society by working, but will also provide all citizens with a high standard of living. Why not reach for the stars?

I watched clips of the republican elephant cow flops talk a whole lot about nothing. I did get a laugh about Michelle Bachman saying submissive meant respectful. There was nothing of substance and nothing about jobs.

So what next? The economic condition of the nation will continue to worsen. People will continue to be more pissed off. There will be change, but the change that is coming scares the shit out me.
