As if America needs another reminder of the lunacy of the modern Republican Party we got one. Despite their incessant whining about the debt and deficits and amid their calls for even less investment in America and for average Americans to sacrifice even more what do they do? In a pathetic attempt to continue validating the failures and waste of George W. Bush now that we are finally leaving Iraq they are crying like the scalded chickenhawks they really are.

Want to see what Republican leadership means?? After long years and thousands of deaths and well over a trillion dollars in wasted American treasure fighting a war in a country that did not attack us American troops are finally coming home. After several years of majority American opposition to the Iraq War it appears as if the American people are finally being heard.

And what do Republicans do?? They throw a hissy fit and call for American troops to continue fighting in Iraq and dying needlessly their indefinately. Of course that is easy for them to do because they are too cowardly to fight for anything except tax cuts for themselves.

Americans should consider when they listen to John Bolton that he represents what Republicans would have to offer America:

So, in other words the same folks that are telling us that America is simply to broke to invest in it's own land and people, and in fact so broke that they must steal your Social Security and Medicare to pay for their tax cuts are telling you that we can continue to waste trillions of dollars in Iraq INDEFINATELY because they simply cannot admit their ideology on foreign policy is idiocy. They offer more death and disrespect to our troops and more debt to our country as they steal even more in tax cuts, deficits and deregulation.

Just listening to leading Republican candidates should lead Americans to realize why this modern Republican Party simply cannot be trusted with anything anymore because they simply do not care that they are wrong and America disagrees with them:

“President Obama’s astonishing failure to secure an orderly transition in Iraq has unnecessarily put at risk the victories that were won through the blood and sacrifice of thousands of American men and women," Romney said in a statement. "The unavoidable question is whether this decision is the result of a naked political calculation or simply sheer ineptitude in negotiations with the Iraqi government."

"Today's announcement that we will remove all of our forces from Iraq is a political decision and not a military one; it represents the complete failure of President Obama to secure an agreement with Iraq for our troops to remain there to preserve the peace and demonstrates how far our foreign policy leadership has fallen," Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann said in a statement. She said the U.s. should have demanded repayment for its cost of liberating Iraq, and demanded that Obama "return to the negotiating table with Iraq and lead from the front and not from weakness in Iraq and in the world."

"Whether or not its the right thing to do, I would consult with the commanders. The thing that I wouldn't do that the president is doing is telling the enemy how many troops you gonna bring out and when you're going to bring them out," he told NBC's Andrew Rafferty. "I believe our time there was worth it...But I would not have announced this big draw down, tell the enemy so they are going to basically position themselves."

Which leads you to wonder just what the hell these people are talking about and how in the hell their party can ever be taken seriously by anyone. Their only vision of success in Iraq fits right in with their vision for everything in this country. They think we should stay there indefinately no matter how many lives it costs, how much it strains our troops and military and how much it costs our taxpayers as long as it is making a very few people very rich.

It is long past time America came home from Iraq. The idiotic Republican resistance to doing so should show all of America one thing. This modern Republican cares nothing of truth, justice or the will of the American people as long as a very few people get their way and profit from the pain of all the rest of us.

God help us all if this reckless band of lunatics controls the White House again any time soon.
