There is a very bad feeling going on these days.  Corruption and cover ups are not new.
People are very confused for the most part on what role law enforcement plays.  Their job is to enforce laws that are on the books.  They are not the grand jury or the judge and are not to interpret those laws.   The training by FDLE goes like this..  They respond to  every call they receive and document, they gather evidence, they set up crime scenes, they interview witnesses and they have pictures.  They have pictures and drawings, and they secure their evidence gathered.

DNA is to be gathered and sent to forensics. Video cams and log records are to be reviewed.
They complete forensic evidence, label it, and notify next of kin.  The notification of next of kin is at the top of the list but the protocol is even more detailed,   When there is a homicide or accidental shooting, then that dept had better be on the toes.

The Shooter if known is to be apprehended and brought in for questioning. The first thing that is supposed to happen is EMT's are called and so is the State Attorney. ( if a deaht is involved)  Ballistic experts are to be brought into a scene to make sure the removal of a bullet or bullets are to be examined to match the weapon...It does not matter that someone said they shot someone.  A police officer has to verify that statement.  A police officer is supposed to obtain written witness statements and determinations are made by the State Attorney and the Coroner along with evidence and statements along with FBI background checks of the shooter or suspected shooter and held until the evidence is examined to determine if charges will be brought against a person and a cause of death has been established.
Sometimes a bullet to the chest or back or torso is not the cause of death.  Sometimes, blunt trauma if a fight is suspected, or any natural causes are ruled out.  This cannot be done by police alone but with the help of Coroners, FDLE, (which is the same as the state version of the FBI.  Death certificates are to be completed by the coroner but the police is not to do anything but investigate and secure evidence.  They are not to determine if someone is to be let go.  If they just went through the motions of being police, then there is a real problem for indictment.   They should always hold a suspect or individual until the evidence is completely examined.  They don't put people in city vehicles to receive first aid,
they don't unarm people without backup, they do constantly report into dispatch of what is happening, they DO read miranda rights, they do treat victims and their remains with respect and dignity, and they do lock up the suspect.  This is the reality of how law enforcement is supposed to work.

This thing in Sanford is so screwed up until it looks like The Little Rascals answered the call
and so many more questions than answers.
jump below the squiggly

I am not exactly a layperson being certified by the FDLE but this goes beyond the pale of even a 12 year old avid reader of True Detective.  No pictures of the victim?  Dispatch times  not matching?  The shooter should have been arrested for possession of a firearm if he had a record and to my understanding he does.  A history of domestic violence?  Wanting to talk on the phone before meeting with an officer ?  Conflicting reports of witnesses?  911 calls that conflict?  No evidence of who called what agency and at what time.  EMT's treating shooters in the back of a patrol car rather than transported to a hospital?  Conflicting Cornoner reports of no scuffle?  Racial Slurs?  Oh Please...Nothing suspicious here? Disregarding 911 instructions...Keep in mind dispatchers do not know most of the time about undercover stuff going on.....from informants or any other kind of activity in an area that involves police and another individual or individuals.

A person claiming to be the victim and the other dead ? the other person a juvenile?  There is a whole lot more but too much to say that is not protocol or IMO even legal.  Enough screwups that technicality alone would get the suspect off even from a manslaughter charge.  If a person hits a person with their vehicle they are normally charged with vehicular homicide or manslaughter.  After a month still no arrest.  The police knew Zimmerman.  They knew him well enough that he had a history of violence.  THEY KNEW HIM.  This is documented here in so many places.   Not to charge someone with aggravated battery or even simple assault is just crazy and that law has nothing to do with those charges.

I suspect there is more going on here than derelict of duty.  I know what I suspect.  Zimmerman was not even charged with stalking or littering  or discharging a firearm within a residential area.  I suspect Sanford Police knew very well what Zimmerman was doing that evening.  I suspect when it all comes to light, we will see a reverse sting drug deal was in play and young Martin was a case of mistaken identity or wrong place wrong time or even something more sinister.  Trayvon was from Miami.  Trayvon was not from Sanford but that should not have mattered where he was from if police were doing their jobs.  I want to know why the people of Sanford have not requested Seminole County protect their homes because this PD needs to be temporaily shut down until all those involved in derelict of duty or cover up is taken into custody.  This is about justice not being served.

The wingers are saying race bating on Jackson's and Sharpton's behalf.  This goes way beyone some kid and some overzealous watchperson....If this is how we are protected...in everyday life then God help us if a terrorist is on the loose.  Tear down the TSA safeguards because this is a dog and pony show.  I am beginning to fear the police..Dead is dead whether by a crazy person or someone claiming to be Al quida and face it, extremism is extremism.  The state of Florida not demanding Sanford PD shut the doors and investigations from the Scott administration down is nothing less than scary.
