Social Conservatives are always railing against the theory of evolution. While there are some parts of evolution that I too can question one thing is clear. Conservatives in this country do indeed believe in one of the main tenets of evolution. "The Law of the Jungle" in which the strongest prey on and feed upon the weak is definately a staple in Conservative thought. They have been preying on and feeding off all of us now for the better part of three decades.

Yes, since the introduction of "Reagannomics" and "trickle-down" idiocy in the early eighties the wealthy in this country have acted like vampires. They care nothing of thier country or anyone within it but themselves. They have used their postions of power to attach themselves to our juglars and they have sucked them dry.

And their solution to the fact that their greed combined with like-minded politicians in Washington has wrecked our economy while making them rich by picking the rest of us clean?? Ask for more sacrifice from us while they in turn give nothing to the problems they caused. Worse yet, they seek to prey on us once again using a crisis they caused to take even more from their fellow Americans. Indeed, less powerful Americans who have to do actual work for their money instead of ripping everyone else off.

Sadly for Progressives President Obama has been extremely passive with these people. We elected him because we had hoped he would smack them in the mouth with a new vision of change this country desperately needed. Instead more times than not he has not only compromised, but just caved completely continuing idiotic policies from the last administration.

Now with the election looming he is finally calling Republicans out on their "social darwinism" and the fact that they seem to only care about using thier power to prey upon the weak, and rob them blind all over again.

Watch:

Obama hit on the simple fact of the matter. If more Americans have more money to spend then our economy recovers. He denounced the idiocy of "trickle-down" since it has been proven that the more you give to the wealthy the more they will horde it and refuse to let the trickle go down. He defended the true drivers of American exceptionalism, the shrinking, working middle-class:

The widening gulf between the rich and everyone else, Mr. Obama said, was hobbling the country’s economic growth. He cited studies that found that societies with less income inequality had stronger and steadier growth.

“In this country, broad-based prosperity has never trickled down from the success of a wealthy few,” the president said, according to excerpts of his address. “It has always come from the success of a strong and growing middle class. That’s how a generation who went to college on the G.I. Bill, including my grandfather, helped build the most prosperous economy the world has ever known.”

He swung back at Paul Ryan and his budget, pointing out that it serves as nothing but Social Darwinism as the powerful swoop down once again to feed, and murder what is left of an American middle-class:

But the president reserved his harshest words for the 2013 budget proposal recently passed by the Republican-controlled House. The budget, drafted by Representative Paul D. Ryan, Republican of Wisconsin, calls for $5.3 trillion in spending cuts, as well as tax cuts for households earning more than $250,000.

“Disguised as a deficit reduction plan, it’s really an attempt to impose a radical vision on our country. It’s nothing but thinly veiled social Darwinism,” Mr. Obama said. “By gutting the very things we need to grow an economy that’s built to last — education and training, research and development — it’s a prescription for decline.”

And while all this talk from the President is encouraging unfortunately in his time in the White House he has a record of complicity to Conservative idiocy. When will he back these words up with action and step up and use his position of power to cram our vision down their throats like Republican Presidents have done to us??

Mr. Obama this talk is encouraging but we need you to fight. We need long strides instead of baby steps and the first place to start is to support a real budget that will offer real prosperity to our country as a whole. The Congressional Progressive Caucus has released a "Budget for All" that seeks to insure all Americans, not just the 1% recover:

Last year, the Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) introduced the People’s Budget, a budget alternative for fiscal year (FY) 2012, which would have achieved fiscal sustainability while investing in economic recovery, strengthening the middle class, and protecting vital social insurance programs (Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and the Affordable Care Act). For FY2013, the CPC has released the Budget for All as an alternative to President Barack Obama’s budget request for FY2013 (referred to hereafter as “the president’s budget”) as well as to provide a stark contrast to the vision set forth by the House Republican Budget Resolution for FY2013 (the budget proposal released by Rep. Paul Ryan, or “the Ryan budget”).

See how this budget would offer real hope for economic recovery in our country here:

So while it is encouraging to see President Obama calling Republicans out on their prey upon the weak mentality it is time for him to go one step further. Mr. President we need you to give up the baby steps and compromise and support what America needs now as much as at any time in its history. A Progressive vision of hope that benefits us all.
