I guess it could be considered a sin but I think of it more as a manifestation. By longing for something that I want I’m putting out the energy to create space and finances for whatever I’m coveting - I mean longing for - I mean manifesting.
I’m starting to get very interested in wearing earrings. Mundane as it may seem I have one hole in each ear pierced. For me that’s really something though because for about 20 years I had only one hole in one ear. (That is a great way to get free earrings; once your friends lose one of a pair they give the remaining one to you.)
But at some point I thought I might feel more balanced if my ears matched so I pierced the other one. I put a pair of baby hoops in them and left them there for 5 years. Then I was diagnosed with cancer and had surgery. For some reason they make you take your earrings out for surgery. (I really can’t imagine what kind of emergency my little hoops would get in the way of.)
For several months after the surgery my ears were the last thing I thought about so earrings never even crossed my mind. Then I started getting my hair cut shorter and shorter. I don’t know why. I chose alternative treatments for my cancer so I didn’t do anything that made my hair fall out, maybe it was just being around bald women a lot.
Once my hair was short (and at this point it’s about ½” and hot red) it seemed like earrings might take some of the attention away from the wrinkles and that (cringe) neck of mine. And little baby hoops just weren’t going to do.
I started searching for earrings and where else would I look but the Kos Katalogue?
Any earrings that I wear need to meet a few requirements. No gold. They have to not bother my “oh so” sensitive ears. They have to be able to stay in all night. If I take them out I will never remember to put them back in the next day and within 24 hours the holes in my ears grow back over. (That’s actually a good thing, I heal fast.)
They have to be hoops. I wear headphones a lot and post earrings jab me. They can’t be too long because I will be sleeping with them on and I also sleep with 3 pooties and a woozle. If my head moves in the night and the earrings move too much my cats bat at them and I wake up scratched. (Which I suppose takes attention away from wrinkles but not in a good way.)
Thank goodness there are a lot of earrings to choose from in the Kos Katalogue. I’m going to highlight some of the ones that appeal to me and are in my budget; ones that I hope to purchase. Please take a look at the whole jewelry section and point out the ones that appeal to you. (And hopefully some that you plan to purchase!) I’m sure we all like something different in styles and prices.
What we probably all share is a love of supporting local artists and handmade things.
