I've been having and argument with myself over who I will support in the democratic primary. Head vs Heart and Gut. Hillary or Bernie. Practical vs Idealism. Two excellent candidates and one vote. Who do I support, or more importantly what do I support and who do I know will do their best to carry that forward as president.
Hillary is an exceptional woman. She is well qualified to be the president on paper and in real practical experience. She is and will remain a pioneer and trail blazer for other women in the political arena. I know that she will do her best to lead the republic forward to a better future as she sees it. My problem with Hillary is that I know that she is connected to Wall St. She is connected to the beltway. She represents a grand political family. I really don't like dynastic political families as it begins to look more like an aristocratic system of governance which is what we really want to avoid.
Bernie Sanders represents what I truly know to be the right direction for my country and everyone inside it. Every metric dictates that I support Hillary. I keep going back to Sanders and start thinking why not? The man just talks common sense and means it. He is out there pressing the flesh and carrying the message. He cuts through bullshit and bluster in a simple way that everyone can understand.
Should Hillary win the primary I will support her and no hard feelings. Either way our two are better than anything the republicans are currently showing. Heart and Gut win again.
