North Carolina GOP makes the most embarrassing attack on Tim Kaine

Whoopsies! The North Carolina Republican Party thought it had caught Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine in a major lapse of performed patriotism Wednesday night, but they embarrassed themselves, not Kaine. The state party tweeted an attack on Kaine for supposedly wearing a pin featuring the Honduran flag while not wearing an American flag pin. But:

The Charlotte Observer reports:

The person behind the Twitter account thanked Amey for alerting them to the mistake in a reply after deleting the tweet, but did not apologize to Kaine for the error.

Way to emphasize Kaine’s military family bonafides, guys.
