A quick diary because I don’t want this to be missed and noone else seems to have blogged it. The Center for Public Integrity released a detailed report on comparative transparency of the two presidential candidates. Conclusions include:
Neither candidate deserves a transparency award. But a Center for Public Integrity analysis shows Clinton, when compared head-to-head with Trump, is the clear winner when it comes to making information available to the public.
Clinton is found at least somewhat more transparent in the areas of health records, tax returns, campaign money, discussion of issues on websites, and philanthropy Trump is found somewhat more transparent in social media, press access and “email, immigration, transcripts.” They tie on filing their personal financial disclosures though the point is made that these are not very useful
This is worth a read. It has lots of information presented in a nonpartisan way. I would hope the Clinton campaign would use it as a guide to how to make some changes. Hillary’s campaign made themselves availalbe for this article, Trump’s did not.
