In 2009, progressive pundit Sam Seder had heard enough of people saying Roman Polanski’s film making skills were more important than the fact that he was a child rapist. In response, he showed his disgust by posting a tweet saying this:
“Don’t care re Polanski, but I hope if my daughter is ever raped it is by an older truly talented man w/a great sense of mise en scene”
The context of the tweet was as above. Seder was mocking the argument being used to defend Polanski. Taken out of context, however, it sounds like something else.
Seder has been an articulate critic of Donald Trump and Roy Moore so the Alt Right decided he would make a good target. Bottom feeder Mike Cernovich dug through years of his tweets to find just the one to take out of context to try to destroy him.
It took going back NINE years but they finally hit pay dirt and sent the tweet to everyone who does business with Seder. The letter to advertisers claimed to be from someone very upset because their life had been touched by child rape.
On receiving the tweet and the phony premise about why it was being sent, MSNBC responded not by looking deeper, not by considering the source but by terminating Sam Seder’s contract.
If you are unfamiliar with Mike Cernovich, he is filth who brags, among other things, about rape. He was also one of the main purveyors of the Pizzagate hoax.
The Alt Right couldn’t be happier about MSNBC’s horrible decision. Consider this winner:
Here is Seder’s own statement on how he has been targeted and it comes with a warning. If the Alt Right is successful, the chilling effect on public discussion will be dire.
MSNBC should be ashamed.
