I had the privilege of reading this little beauty at the “liberal” New York times: Liberals, You’re Not as Smart as You Think.

Gerard Alexander, denizen of the Party of Personal Responsibility, has done some soul searching and decided that Trump may be reelected and it is the fault of liberals!

The whole thing is nonsense in this vein:

But accusers can paint with very wide brushes. Racist is pretty much the most damning label that can be slapped on anyone in America today, which means it should be applied firmly and carefully. Yet some people have cavalierly leveled the charge against huge numbers of Americans — specifically, the more than 60 million people who voted for Mr. Trump.

In their ranks are people who sincerely consider themselves not bigoted, who might be open to reconsidering ways they have done things for years, but who are likely to be put off if they feel smeared before that conversation even takes place.

You guys, they want to love us so badly if only we would let them! But now they are hurt and must vote for a fascist. It’s so tragic that liberals are soooo mean because apparently conservative voters are basically toddlers who have missed their nap and will have tantrums if not soothed and placated.

I look forward to Mr. Alexander’s next column, which no doubt will be called “Conservatives, Grow the Fuck Up.
