Instead of lecturing Democratic Congress member and beloved auntie Maxine Waters on civility, maybe Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan should get his own House in order first, because Jesus effing Christ:
Rep. Steve King (R-IA), who two weeks ago retweeted a neo-Nazi’s call to stop “mass immigration,” refused on Tuesday to delete the tweet or apologize for sharing the hate leader’s message.
That’s because he meant it. Besides, Ryan is going after Waters because why would he finger-wag King when the House has tailored its immigration agenda to extremists like him for years, including giving him numerous votes to kill the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program?
Republicans can’t claim Steve King is an outlier in their party, because he is the heart of their party. When the standard bearer of their party calls white supremacists and neo-Nazis “very fine people,” they don’t get to distance themselves from the congressman from Iowa. This is who they are.
