The Trump campaign is going after Omarosa Manigault Newman for violating her nondisclosure agreement:
“Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. has filed an arbitration against Manigault-Newman with the American Arbitration Association in New York City, for breach of her 2016 confidentiality agreement with the Trump Campaign. President Trump is well known for giving people opportunities to advance in their careers and lives over the decades, but wrong is wrong, and a direct violation of an agreement must be addressed and the violator must be held accountable.”
“Wrong is wrong” is a novel position coming out of this particular campaign.
It’s significant that this action comes from the campaign rather than having to do with Omarosa’s time in the White House as a public employee, and that this is arbitration—many employers’ weapon of choice for getting a process stacked in their favor—rather than court. Of course, a lot of Omarosa’s most interesting revelations come out of the White House, not the campaign, and it’s a much longer shot to silence her about that.
