The heir apparent to be leader of the GOP caucus, Rep. Kevin McCarthy of California, told Fox News on Sunday that the anonymous New York Times op-ed is proof positive of the "deep state" Donald Trump has been carping about ever since he set foot in the Oval Office.
“If you ever wondered is there a deep state? Is there somebody high in government that would hide behind media to work against the voters of America and create a constitutional crisis? It’s proven today that it is,” McCarthy told Fox's Maria Bartiromo.
He went on to accuse the Times of posting the op-ed in order to take attention away from the good economic news.
No word on whether McCarthy is the least bit concerned about Trump being an arm's length away from the nuclear football. He’s too busy kissing Trump's ring to worry about mushroom clouds and World War III.
As journalist Bob Woodward, author of the recent bombshell book about Tump’s White House titled Fear, told CBS Sunday Morning: "People better wake up to what's going on." Woodward added, "You look at the operation of this White House and you have to say, 'Let's hope to God we don't have a crisis.'”
Let’s restore sanity to our government and make sure Rep. McCarthy can’t enable Trump for another two years. Can you give just $3 to help push House Democrats over the top this fall?
