The Atlantic speaks Thusly
Apparently if we all switch from beef to beans we will meet around 60% of our climate change goals.
Last year on my birthday I went vegetarian. At the time it seemed like a big move, especially since I’m not made of willpower, but since then I’ve learned that being a vegetarian doesn’t have to mean being a stern and cheerless healthfood nut. You can still go to Red Robin and order a (veggie) burger slathered with bleu cheese and mushrooms. Also, Indian food exists! There are tons of great food options that just don’t happen to have meat in them.
But what do you do on Thanksgiving, when everyone is sucking down turkey? What I do is eat the turkey. It’s once a year, and I didn’t make a vow to the vegetarian god or whatever, I’m just doing my best. I recommend everyone give it a try.
