The purulence of this “president” and his upcoming SOTU is infecting my sensibilities.. days before the charade is about to stage.
Soon, the “president” managed by his power hungry, incompetent, amateurs, will again attempt to prop him up.. by usurping respected SOTU traditions. All to foist one damn lie upon another and upon another to placate one man’s egoistic insecurity to serve their morally bankrupt agenda.
This will be a mockery, an attack upon yet another government institution.
So, the “president” will deliver his second State of the Union address February 5th by gracious invitation of speaker Nancy Pelosi. You won’t forget that Mr. “President” will you?
Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman will present undocumented Trump worker, Victoria Morales as a guest, ostensibly to serve as a rebuke of the “president’s” border policy, but alas will prove a disservice to Ms. Morales. The “president” will surely be mindful of her coming to the show and will trot out some faux exemplary (sic) in retaliation. I hope Ms. Morales grits her teeth and brings down the house with innocence and angry eyes.
The event will certainly be an awkward spectacle on so many predictable levels. Among the seated Justices, Kavanaugh’s presence alone will reek of the court’s partisanship, division and the gross malpractice of the corruption that appointed him. The media will milk Justice Ginsburg’s recent health issues to placate their conservative demographic. The chamber will have a queasy night of it and nobody will ultimately care or even remember what was said a week later excepting perhaps the “president” tweeting out his conquest and/or declaring some sort of false “emergency” or trumped up incident to sustain his media attention through the next cycle.
The faces on the members of congress will speak volumes. On both sides of the isle. Observe the faces closely and you will discern some with a quest for truth, some with a sense of resignation to fate or fear. Expressions a good photographer would reveal in two distinct categories. Either as a little callous or somewhat empathetic in the subject facial lines. Countenances will be apparent on those faces. If you watch the damn thing, you’ll see.
There will be little joy, few genuine expressions of friendship, still less any authentic response to the “president’s” call for unity. Most will want to just get out of there, get back home or to the nearest bar as fast as they can. Some will vomit.
Few Democrats will want to sit through the “president’s” televised speech. Even fewer Republicans will hang for Stacy Abrams rebuttal. America should.
