A smiling, joyful Donald Trump dutifully made the journey to the University Medical Center of El Paso to meet with the survivors and first responders after a 21-year-old man drove ten hours with the specific intention of mass murder. He told investigators his plan was to "shoot as many Mexicans as possible,” a plan he also detailed in his manifesto, which repeatedly echoed the “invasion” language used over and over again by Donald Trump and Fox News.
The survivors of the shooting were not so happy to see him. In fact, none of the eight patients who remain hospitalized were willing to meet with him. Two survivors who’ve been released returned to the hospital for the photo op.
Incredibly, the White House banned all media from traveling to the hospitals to meet with victims. The reason, they said, was this was not meant to be a photo op, this was about Donald Trump consoling the victims and first responders. Based on the video below, it’s easy to see why they didn’t want actual media reporting on Donald Trump’s actions.
There was no consoling. Trump appears to have walked around smiling, cracking jokes, and being the Narcissist-in-Chief, immediately turned the conversation back to his favorite subject: himself. Here is a video taken by one of the people at the hospital. Listen to this pathetic, insecure person change the subject to his rally size, even going so far as to compare it to Beto O’Rourke’s event.
It’s unclear which Beto O’Rourke event Trump was talking about, but it was most likely Beto’s appearance in El Paso, his hometown, where he has been comforting survivors and family members of victims in recent days. While Trump laughs and yucks it up, this is what Beto O’Rourke has been doing.
Friends, we have exactly 453 days until Nov. 3, 2020. It is imperative we do everything we can between now and then to get this narcissistic sociopath out of the White House. Paraphrasing Joe Biden, the very soul of the nation is at stake.
