Didn't all read reports from Kerry staffers that he was going to take advantage of JJ to go "nuclear" on Dean?

Was that it? If that's the toughest and meanest Kerry can get, it's over for him. He'd have no chance against Bush. Did Dem leaders advise him behind-the-scenes against it?
