AUSTRALIA TO NEVADA: Just Arrived in Las Vegas

Have just arrived in Las Vegas and was met at the airport by a nice women named Anna and whisked off to the Kerry headquarters. They introduced me to everyone. Quite a big operation with lots of volunteers from all over even one from the Netherlands. So now both Holland and Australia are lending a hand.

Had a lovely flight over the desert. Saw all the nice butte and mesa topography. While I have spent some time in Northern Nevada hiking in the past around Elko and Winnemucca, I have never been to Las Vegas. It reminds me alot of Alice Springs nestled into the mountains as it is. The setting is particular reminiscent of some of the newer surburbs around Cairo.

Will get to work in earnest tomorrow after I have rested a bit.

Democrats have outregistered voters in Nevada by some 4000. But everybody reckons the final vote will be won by the hundreds.
