How TV Censorship Happens...Why letters to TV matter

On 12/20/04, a woman wrote a letter to the Vice President of an Morning talk show at 9am, 40 minutes after the end of Bush's final press conference for the year...

She objected to the reference the Morning show host made about President Bush...she said she didn't care what political affiliation the host was, but she shouldn't make any "nasty" comments about the President.

So the letter was forwarded to the Executive Producer of the show - just a question mark - find out what happened...

The passing quote from the Morning show (in that mocking morning show voice):

"We would have got to that sooner, but that damn President was jibber-jabbering..."

So now the Exec Producer will have a talk with the host, and in the future she'll think twice before saying anything about the President...

All because of one letter to one man.
