Well today should be fun. With DKos Deaniacs aligning themselves with Drudge and the Right Wing radio talk shows like Sean Hannity in order to spread an unsubstantiated rumor of infidelity that the vast majority of all press is avoiding like the plague, I thought we should have a discussion about the rating system.
Last night in the Open thread, there many a troll ratings given on both sides. Some say that affects "trusted user" status, but I don't know what means. I thought I should explain how view the ratings and how I use them to see if I am correct and so we can discuss them.
Excellent--wonderful contribution to DKos. Factual, Accurate, full of links, something that I agree with wholeheartedly and want more people to see.
Good--not as great as Excellent. I agree and disagree on some points, but still a good and factual contribution.
Marginal--unaccurate or not factual or a completely off base or off topic comment. A blind follower of a candidate that just wants to make noise by posting a comment. Comment really contributes nothing to the community except more traffic and noise. (For most, I believe this is your definition of troll).
Troll--well if it is a recognized troll who just joined the site to spread hate, lies, or the Republican agenda. I also use this the troll rating in retaliation for an unwarranted troll rating attack on myself. I also use the troll rating when a poster has attacked another personally. "Get a life" "You suck" "Committ Suicide" "Go F*ck yourself"
Zero Rating--the nuclear option. If a comment is worse than the description of a troll above.
Comments? Discussion? Whats your take?
