The Intentions of Kerry-Haters or Kerry-Doubters

James Ridgeway. He writes one little piece in the Village Voice and it inspires the ABK crowd to reemerge and slam the Democratic Nominee. I have just gone through the last 100 diaries. I have selected and posted below the most obvious Anti-Kerry pieces. I am sure there are more posted throughout yesterday, but I only have so many hours in the day.

First, for those progressives and liberals who do not like Kerry, I suggest you read Stirling Newberry's Why Progressives Should Back Kerry. After you have done that, answer me this simple question: What are your intentions? What do you want to have happen? Senator John Kerry is going to be the Democratic Nominee. Nothing, short of his death or incapacity, will change that. Therefore, while I respect your right to voice your opinions, I must ask what your intentions are. Do you want to seriously damage beyond repair the Kerry Campaign so that his support here on Daily Kos and throughout the Democratic Party is tepid at best, thus leading to a Bush victory? Do you want Kerry to lose in November so that Dean or another dream candidate can lead you to victory in 2008? Worst of all, are you actually in league with the Republicans?

If you hate Kerry that much, just do me a favor: Find a third party candidate that you like and actively support him or her. It can be Nader or the Green party candidate or any of the other hundreds of candidates that run for President each year. Positively promote their candidacy. Support candidates for lower office that more closely match your ideas and ideals. BUT DO NOT NEGATIVELY ATTACK KERRY. The Republicans will do that enough for you. And if you continue to attack Kerry in this way, I must say you are no better than a Republican.
