How will I determine what is a best diary?
I would love to have some objective guidelines available so I don't be accused of being subjective or playing favorites.
Some here are my subject guidelines:
1. No Breaking News diaries will be considered.
Because these are normally single line diaries pointing us to a news link, and then we discuss it amongst ourselves. Sure, these diaries can amass a lot of comments, but the author of the diary really didn't put much work in writing an original work. No offense, breaking news diaries are a great resource, but I am looking to reward originality and creativity here.
2. No single sentence or single paragraph diaries will be considered
This is simple enough.
3. The author should put our a Tip Jar so I can see how many Kossacks really like your work. The number of people rating you and the average rating will be a factor considered.
4. The number and quality of comments your diary recieves will also be a factor considered.
The reason for the number is obvious, but the reason for considering the quality is because we want to have diaries generate good and thoughtful discussion here.
5. Observing Daily Kos Diary Posting rules will be considered.
Extended Copy Box being the most important one.
Does anyone have any other suggestions or comments? Is this a good idea? How else should I judge a diary>
