According to the
Globe and Mail, the Canadian election campaign will begin tomorrow.
The center-left Liberals have been in charge up there since 1993, but it looks like they are in some serious trouble this year. The right-of-center Progressive Conservative and Canadian Alliance parties merged last year, so the the Canadian right will be united for the first time since the 1988 election. A revitalized NDP will give the Liberals trouble on their left flank. The Bloc Quebecois will probably take away alot of Liberal ridings in Quebec.
Hopefully, the election will be an entertaining distraction from the campaign down here. I know that there are a good deal of Canadian Kossacks. If any of them are working on campaigns up there, I would be interested in hearing about the plans and preparations for the upcoming election.
