New Iraq torture pics here

Here are the new batch from the Washington Post.  Go a little down the page -- they're on the bar at the right, under W's head.  Gentle folk should think twice before looking at these.  There are lots of naked Iraqis being humiliated in perverse ways.

I wonder how things like this happen.  Does somebody suddenly think, "Hey guys! I've got an idea!  Why don't we get a bunch of our prisoners naked, stack them in a pile, and jump on them?"  (That's not directly depicted in the pics, but it's in the Taguba report.)  It's just unbelievable.  I can understand the motivations for many types of violence, but I can't figure out why anybody would want to do things like this to people.  

I'm not putting out a tip jar for this one -- not only haven't I said anything original, but there would be something messed up about getting tips for posting torture pics.
