This is the only diary I've done with a news flash, but if you are able to watch C-Span online or on television right now, the focus group they are running with undecideds in OH is phenomenal. This is not the CNN "let's get all points of view" absurdity. These seem to actually be the coveted "undecided" voter -- people with jobs and families trying to make their way in the world.
Jobs and healthcare are the overwhelming top issues for these people, yet Abu Ghraib is one of the two most enduring images they have of the last year.
I was especially struck when the person I had pegged as the most conservative in the group cited the Anti-gay marriage amendment as the least important issue going on right now. He said, "We've already wasted two Amendments out of 27 -- one start to prohibition and one to end it. Social issues are not the place to change the Constitution."
