Senator Joe Lieberman announced Monday in Hartford that he is collecting signatures necessary to run as an independent to ensure he is on the ballot in November if he loses the primary.
One factor not mentioned in many news reports is the possibility that Connecticut could end up with a new Republican Senator, due to a split Democratic vote.
A Quinnipiac University poll showed Lieberman would win 56 percent of the vote in a three-way race with Lamont and Republican Alan Schlesinger. Obviously losing the Democratic Primary will eliminate a lot of Holy Joes support but whether or not Lieberman will become Lamonts spoiler remains to be seen.
Right now Lieberman supporters are going door to door, and standing out in front of super markets all over Connecticut trying to gather signatures nessisary to get Lieberman on the ballot.
It's time we start a Say No To Joe campaign.
We need to stress the risks involved with a 3 way race and try our best to disuade CTs citizens from signing that petition. If we want to kill Liebermans independent run we need to stop it before it even gets off the ground.
I'm pretty much inept when it comes to setting up websites but SayNoToJoe.com is available I suggest we register it as an anti-petition site and get to work educating the masses about Joe the Spoiler.
