Are we all happy now?

After all of the hysteria and panic on Sunday and Monday that the pick would be Gephardt, is everyone happy?

Many were making dire predictions. Many said that they will not campaign for or support Kerry. Many said they would not give any more money. Some said they would not vote for a Kerry-Gephardt ticket.

So, is everyone taking back those words? Will everyone now be ethusiastic about Kerry-Edwards? Will we all now support and campaign for the ticket? Will we still give money?

My emotions right now are relief (both because Edwards was picked and because I am finally out of the massive traffic jam on I-95 that made me an hour late for work). Relief because hopefully the base of the party and the leftier than thou crowd will finally jump on the bandwagon and stop making threats like the ones above concerning Gephardt. Relief that Kerry made the right decision strategically. Relief that many border states and former Republican diehard states like Virginia and North Carolina are now in play. Relief that Nader, because he is a man of word, will now drop out and support Kerry since Kerry chose Edwards.

Ahh....what a morning.
