IF you look at the George Washington Poll just out, the most remarkable thing was when asked if they want bush re-elected, 60% said no. this mirrors the right/wrong track number. why keep the captain if the titanic is heading for the iceberg?
However, when you through in the smearing of kerry, than that 60% against bush/ 40% for, turns in a 47& for bush 49% for kerry...the GOP smears, thats how they win..im over it..
but the right/wrong track number IS KERRY'S #1 issue..we need to keep repeating over and over again..are you better off then you were before?
what direction is this country going in?
what will your future look like in another 4 years of bush?
in peter peterson's book, he wants people to ask..is your FUTURE better off today than it was four years ago?
WE MUST GET PEOPLE TO THINK ABOUT THE DIRECTION OF THE COUNTRY...kerry can even tie it into something he's done..ya'll can toss around ideas of kerry exemplifing going from nothing to something..
but focusing on vietnam really takes the focus off of where it should be...on thinking about the direction of the country [step one] and then thinking about changing it [step two]
the whole point of picking John Edwards was to show that dems are bright, young, and not necessarily steeped in DC politics. Remember the whole "what ifs.." that kerry went into during his convention speech...all of that type of stuff needs to be talked about.
But kerry's MAIN issue HAS to be the direction of the country. the rest is just details. its like the cali recall...though arnold had a number of things to say about grey, the main thing he focused on was the deficit. [bty, i hate arnold, but this is another issue]
Yeah? No?
