here is a very, very interesting article in the right-wing british magazine, the economist.

everybody can chew on this paragraph when you want to cry about the polls

"IN SEPTEMBER 1980 Ronald Reagan was stuck behind Jimmy Carter in the polls. His campaign was in such a shambles that he had to sack his campaign manager. And he was dogged by the belief that he was unelectable. All that changed with a single debate--and Reagan crushed Mr Carter by more than 8m votes."

I have to admit. I still believe its the economy, stupid. but the economist brings out a good point. we CANT run on domestic issues--health care, economy, etc. ONLY. b/c, again as the article cites, it didnt work out too well in 2002.

i disagree w/the article that the economy "doesnt look soooo bad". i think it DOES look so bad. Still, thats not the point.

The point is to show that bush is a MISleader. or a MISmanager. Or just a Miss..

fact is, Bush has always been a mismanager. he has always mismanaged himself [drinking, drugs], he's businesses [think bankcrupt, and dont stop thinking], he's war policies [iraq. no further questions].

The article states nothing new. and none of the above is new. so i suppose some of the more interesting points are that this race doesnt have to be over b/c the polls says its over. if this mag can say kerry has a chance, he most certainly does.

its the economist, stupid.
