Pick a new target.

Ok it's 2005, Bush has been inaugurated for his 2nd term. Last time I checked (and if Bush hasn't changed it yet) he's hit his limit and will be gone no matter what in 2008. While it would be sweet to make sure he goes down in history as one of the worst Presidents of all time, we need to stop directing all of our fire at him. He's been sort of a shield or decoy. Drawing all the fire while other, just as deserving targets get off scott free!

Gonzalez has become a target, but he's an Ashcroft like target. Not going to achieve much by driving up his negatives. Though it is fun to take pot shots.

Any way the point is it's time to pick a new target. We discussed this a little before the election. And a few names were tossed around as the next big target for progressive activism. The guy who will recieve the majority of hatred and anger.

Some suggested we take down Schwarzenegger in 2006 and end his political career so he can't move up any further such as Senator or pull a Reagan and run for President. I like this idea, sounds like fun, definitely will be a challenge though!

Others suggested McCain, drive up his negatives and make him less likeable before 2008 gets here. He gained most of his popularity as sort a shadow President over the first 4 year of Bush's Presidency sort of the guy we wish would have won the Primary! If we can build him up in 4 years by mistake we can take him down in 4 years by force.

Joe Lieberman is a good target, it seems lately if Democrats know how to do anything right it's attack one of our own. Then again can Lieberman really be considered one of our own? Rudy Guliani is another good one, like McCain he gained popularity over the first four years of Bush's Presidency. He can be taken down just as quick, but does he deserve the attention? Will he in fact run in 2008?

Then again we could go all out. Attack all of the targets above seperately while saving the majority of our blows not for a person but an institution, an idea. The Republican Party itself. Instead of bad mouthing Bush every chance we get, bad mouth the GOP, Conservatives, the Rightwing, etc.

This is sort of overarching hatred can then be automatically attached to every congressmen and senator up for re-election in 2006 and every Republican primary candidate in 2008.
