According to Max Blumenthal of The Nation (via Atrios), who attended the conference, Schwartz also wants public, medieval execution of judges he disagrees with.
Blumenthal does not bury the lede; his story starts with his unsettling encounter with Schwartz:
Michael Schwartz must have thought I was just another attendee of the Confronting the Judicial War on Faith conference. I approached the chief of staff of Oklahoma's GOP Senator Tom Coburn outside the conference in downtown Washington last Thursday afternoon after he spoke there. Before I could introduce myself, he turned to me and another observer with a crooked smile and exclaimed, "I'm a radical! I'm a real extremist. I don't want to impeach judges. I want to impale them!
Schwartz used to get a lot of cable news face time, when he worked as a top staffer at Concerned Women for America. He's still up on their Web site, where he brags about making "hundreds of appearances on radio and TV, (being) interviewed by Larry King, Phil Donahue, Barbara Walters, Art Linkletter, Geraldo Rivera and Sally Jessy Raphael among many others, (and appearing) regularly as a political commentator on CNN, MSNBC and FOX News."
A guy with such a unique perspective in the issue of federal judges should be out there, front and center, every day, scaring the hell out of the 80-plus percent of the country who are not fellow Christian fascists.
