Just happened. Updated on earthquake.USGS.gov . Sure a lot of them lately. This hit Rancho Santa Margarita, where I live in extreme East Orange County next to the national forest, with about 10 seconds of jolting action.
USGS reports, prior to geologist review, 5.3 magnitude and located 3 mi NE of Yucaipa which is 71 miles East of LA Civic Center. As the bird files probably 45 miles from me.
Shook hard. I'm on bedrock not soil that 'floats' or 'sways'. So very jolting motion.
5.3 is noticable.
