BLOGPAC and Social Security: An Open Source Press Release

The RNC is re-uniting the BC04 team for their assault on Social Security. Right-wing groups are raising an estimated $100 million dollars for the campaign. There has been a war declared upon Social Security.

Let's stop this fraud. BlogPAC is joining the battle -- and we hope that all of you join us.

BlogPAC is a collection of Democratic bloggers and blog readers.

We are launching this website and campaign at midnight eastern time. Here's how you can join up:

1) We will mark the occassion with an email press release to 30,000 of our favorite people in the media. We need quotes for the press release, so we're taking it open source. Post your declaration to waging war against those gutting Social Security, and place a link in the comments here. We'll be quoting our favorite posts, as well as creating a huge Social Security Defenders blogroll that you'll be added to (the blogrolling code will be made freely available). You can also leave quotes in the comments of this post.

2) Next, we need you to update your blog template. We also need links to this site in your blogroll with the linked text "social security" so we can make sure we're found by the people they scare. If you have extra template space, put the Social Security Defenders blogroll up.

3) Sign up for our email list, we will be doing the online, rapid-response for Social Security during the Inauguration and State of the Union.

4) Use our Letters To The Editor tool and you might win an appearance on Air America (check their blog for details).

5) Get creative in doing everything you can to spread the word. Post in our forums. Organize locally. Tell us and we'll promote you as best we can.

We're in the right, they're in the wrong. And they are lying about it.
