I know there is no Social Security crisis. You know there is no crisis. What I want to know is how we can debunk this whole myth that there is a crisis.
Here's how we do it:
Post links to good articles (with a few quotes) in the comments
Post links to hard research/statistics debunking the notion of a "crisis"
Post your ideas for talking points, how to explain this to your friends and neighbors
Rate each other's links and talking points; help us improve our collective game
Use each thread for wording suggestions on fine-tuning each argument
Use your blog to direct people here and urge them to join the discussion
If we do this right, we can create identify the strongest resources for explaining to people why there is no social security crisis. If each link or idea is in a different comment thread then by rating comments we will harness our collective wisdom with an open-source focus group. If the GOP is going to spend $100 million to manufacture a crisis let's refine our talking points so we can take advantage of the fact that many GOP members are scared of this issue. Together, we can win this.
