A number of veepstakes posts include a number of us who have given a lot of thought to the matter and have concluded that John Lewis is the best Veep pick for Kerry (Edwards will need someone with more Nat. Security experience).
^As a Civil Rights leader he is a genuine hero with unquestioned character and integrity.
^He and Kerry offer a STARK contract to Bush/Cheney
^As a minister, he is comfortable talking religion.
^He would energise black turnout beyond belief and help us win FL, PA and solidify MI, IL. (Plus- sick voting rights vet Lewis on Jeb Bush's tactics in FL).
^He would not win southern states, but turnout would probably help all of our southern Sen. candidates and House races.
What should we all do to throw Lewis' name in the Veepstakes mix?
Anyone close to the Kerry campaign know if this is something Kerry would even consider?
Can Lewis at least be "interviewed" and make the short-list?
