While others have concentrated on explaining DailyKos to you (and I hope you have already read the threads), and others on welcoming new people, I'd like to hear from you directly. If you've read the articles or heard the controversy, or your'e a lurker stirred to speak, this is the thread to speak out. What brought you here, what do you think of the place, and do you think you will stay?
The best way to think of Kos is like London's Speaker's Corner: Anyone can speak here, but be prepared for varying responses, good, bad, or just ignored. That's to me what is different than the previous form of punditry. This is a conversation and a dialogue, spoken in a normal form and a normal tone of voice.
I'm just old enough to remember the old pundit shows where people tried to follow the pundits to get the small scraps of information about current affairs. It was like watching the Gods on Mount Olympus talk: lofty and sometimes supercilious in nature. First Bartcop (http://www.bartcop.com) and later Democratic Underground made it possible to have a real left-of center conversation with people who were ordinary people living in the real world, not the uppercrust world of the Washington pundits.
Now, it's your turn to be a pundit: its not that hard.
