Frist's and Santorum's Phony Distancing Acts

We all know how Bush/Cheney, Frist and Santorum have been backpedaling like mad to try to distance themselves from the ethically-challenged Tom DeLay.

I've already got proof that, at least in the cases of Frist and Santorum, the distancing is, as the guys on Car Talk would say, "booooo-gus!"

I blogged about this yesterday. The thing is that Santorum is full of crap, too, when he tries to distance himself from DeLay and his lobbying scandals. Go read up on the "K Street Project" -- Santorum worked with DeLay and Grover Norquist to set it up.

As for Bill Frist, at the same time that he denounced DeLay in front of a gazillon TV cameras, he was still associating with one David Barton.

Who is Barton, and why should we care?

Well, he's the VP of the Texas GOP, a major force in the attack-the-judges movement of which DeLay is a leader, and the guy who Frist invited to lead a special Capitol tour that was scheduled to take place yesterday.

Oh, and he's seriously in bed with the racist Christian Identity/Reconstructionist crowd.
