Congress doesn't give a $%^#! about you..

lots of interesting numbers. But to me, two stick out.

1.) 65% of people say congress doesn't share their priorities. only 17% says congress has the same priorities that they do.

[ironically, this # is pretty close to reality in terms of who benefits from congress's new laws]

2.) A whooping 75% say too little attention is paid by congress to health care ..65% say too little attention is paid to the economy/jobs and another 64% say too little attention is paid to gas prices.

in other words, its drugs and the economy, stupid!!

So..if we really had our act together as a party, the #1 issue we need to hammer home is that Republicans don't care about you..they only care about themselves.

And I hate to use it as an example, but dems really need to look at arnold's recall campaign. he constantly said that politics in cali were dominated by special interests, not people [not true, but thats not the point here]

very, unspecial interests are dominating politics today. Republicans are, as arnold would say, addicted to special interests, and they don't care about you. why arent jobs available, health care/gas prices cheaper? B/c the republicans are too busy w/their addiction to special interests.

The two fit together perfectly: your cares and concerns are neglicted b/c republicans are too busy wooing special interests. their too busy playing up to credit card companies, to pharma companies, to a select number of religious sects, that they haven't bothered to care about you.

Republicans: they don't care about you. They didn't care in 2000. They didn't care in 2004. And they sure as hell aint caring about you in 2006.

As arnold would say, they can't help themselves--they're addicted to special interests. Its time for a change...
