In the article's fantasy world, Gleckman couldn't totally avoid having to make a slight nod to reality: He states that the chances of such a deal are at "less than 50-50" for this year. (Of course, this nod to reality was buried in the very last sentence of the article, which most folks didn't read.)
That being said, it wouldn't hurt to go writing/calling your Democratic congresscritters to tell them that not only is a compromise on Social Security morally wrong, it's politically stupid as well.
In fact, if everyone at Kos who would normally be given to write yet another Oh Nooooo We're Dooooomed They're Selling Us Ouuuuuuuut post would instead write their congresscritters, that'd go a long way to making sure that no compromise on Social Security would ever occur, despite all of the fantasizing being done by Lindsey Graham and his tame stenographers.
(UPDATE: BrooklynRaider suggested including the Senate contact info as well, so here 'tis.)
