Man shot by London police not bomber, no explosives

Apparently the London police has made a big mistake.  First, they assumed he was one of the bombers from yesterday's attempts, which turned out to be false.

Next they assumed he had explosives on him, which wasn't the case at all.

Police believed the Asian man was responsible for an attempted attack on the nearby Oval Tube on Thursday and had set up surveillance on him. Brunt said officers had followed the man from his home and that the initial plan was to arrest him

This was wrong, as later admitted by police themselves.  

Initial examinations though, said Brunt, did not discover any explosives on the suspect.

So, the guy was innocent.
