Right Wing: Terrorism is inevitable

this is my second diary today but i wanted to bring out a current right-wing meme that i've seen alot in the last 24 hours:

Terrorism is inevitable.
*you cant protect everything
*protecting subways is impossible
*you cant stop a "determined" terrorist [thanks mitt romney]
*they only need to be successful once, even if we're successful 1000times [no f-king kidding]

WE NEED TO RESPOND TO THIS

TERRORISM IS NOT INEVITABLE.

Only the GOP/right wingers think it is. Believing that terrorists are impossible to "really" stop is how the Likuds get their power in israeli. its also how to have this war go on forever, which is the goal of the hyper-right.

TERRORISM IS NOT INEVITABLE. there are things we can do to protect ourselves. [like investing in security, not tax cuts]

TERRORISM IS NOT INEVITABLE. We didnt have terrorism like we do now EVER in the history of the country, so why is it inevitable NOW? if muslims hate the west for our values and therefore kill us, why didnt they hate our values in say, 1971 or 1952, and kill us then?

This isnt some long historial inevitable thing. Terror CAN be stopped. And once again, we should be saying this:

If you think terrorism is inevitable and cant be stopped, please step aside and let someone in office who does think it can be stopped. [after all, if its inevitable, it wouldnt matter anyway]

This is an extremely important point for one other reason. By saying terrorism is inevitable, it makes any and all things we do to increase terrorism mute. After all, if iraq inc. terrorism risk its sort of irrelevant, b/c, after all, its inevitable. it makes security less important to invest in [again, why secure against terror if terror is inevitable?]

in short, believing that terrorism is inevitable, makes it inevitable.

and i believe [as my other diary today suggests] that terrorism is ANYTHING BUT inevitable. and can be wiped out. I got the resolve to prove it.

Does the GOP?

No. They think it cant be stopped. Some resolve.
