How can you tell that even the right-wingers are starting to admit that things in Iraq are not going all that well? When they dust off the old "Dolchstoß" myth, that's how!

The Dolchstoß myth -- or the "stab in the back" myth -- is the favorite excuse of reality-challenged fascists everywhere. Most recently used to "explain" America's defeat in Vietnam, it got its start in Germany in the aftermath of World War One. Hitler rode the myth to power, which led to World War Two.
