77 Democrats in the House voted for the flag burning amendment. Had several of them voted the other way, and joined the 12 Republicans who voted against it, the amendment would not have passed. Some of the names will surprise you.

Several members of the CBC, Wynn, Towns, Thompson, Jefferson, Clyburn and Brown, voted for it. Several members of the Massachusetts and New Jersey delegations, Neal, Lynch, McGovern, Andrews, Rothman and Pascrell and Menendez voted the same way. And I was particularly disappointed to see two Ohioans, Marcy Kaptur and Sherrod Brown, vote in favor.
So, it was not a solid bloc of Republicans, or the usual DINOs, who were responsible for passage of the amendment. It was liberal Democrats.
