One Pissed Off Veteran, Farnsworth has an excellent take on the remarkable similarities between Dan Quayle and George Bush. Unqualified brain dead, ne'er-do-wells, who escaped their generation's war in Vietnam by hiding out in the National Guard.
"... I believe that little Danny Quayle, the least qualified, the least presidential of any holder of high office in the history of this nation until the current part-time mostly-on-vacation resident dolt in the White House, was trotted out as a stalking horse, to test the water and check the pulse of the Moron-American voting bloc."
Is it possible the George H.W. Bush (former head of the CIA and the ultimate Washington insider) surrounded by men like Dick Cheney and Don Rumsfeld, could have come up with such a Machiavellian plot?
Yet, looking at the current President Bush, it would be hard to find anyone who was even marginally electable who would so doggedly follow a path so right wing and reactionary. He is the perfect stooge, the empty suit with the empty head, to push forward an agenda of neocon expansion, roll back the New Deal and finish the redistribution of the nation's wealth begun during the Reagan administration, where the plot was originally hatched.
I've got to go now, it's time for my medication.
