POOR MISSISSIPPI!!!!
WE IN ARIZONA APOLOGIZE!
We know you have enough maniacs to deal with you don't need this media whore down there. Though it might be funny to see him on camera trying to take the limelight.
UPDATE: It doesn't say this in the piece, but i heard on NPR, the Sherriff himself is going for a short time to help lead the charge. God I feel so bad for the southeast, they had one natural disaster and now another one is coming.

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio has ordered 100 deputy sheriffs and posse members to head to Mississippi to help local and federal emergency crews.
The deputies and posse members will assist local law enforcement and the Federal Emergency Management Agency in Gulfport, Miss., one of the hardest hit areas of Hurricane Katrina.
The group will include medics, search and rescue trained personnel, Lake Patrol deputies, a SWAT team, and other support staff.
Arpaio's deputies and armed posse will travel in a convoy to their destination, Harrison County, Miss., where in a combined effort with local law enforcement and FEMA, they will provide law enforcement resources, including search and rescue capabilities.
"I am sending my brave employees to work in an area devastated by Hurricane Katrina," Arpaio said in a press release. "Because the area cannot logistically support them, I am sending them with the necessary equipment and supplies to complete their mission."
Responders will take along all-terrain vehicles, patrol vehicles, an airboat, pontoon boats and a helicopter. The group will also truck in their fuel. Additionally, a semi-tractor and refrigerated trailer will carry food supplies for the contingent.
