ACOE levee workers killed by friendly fire

Didn't see this diaried yet. Herald Sun is reporting in a rather short article:

NEW ORLEANS -- A spokesman for the Army Corps of Engineers says that some of its contractors were killed Sunday by police as they walked across a bridge on their way to repair a canal.

This would explain the reports that people were firing on the ACOE.

It doesn't surprise me that this would get reported wrong and that no one would follow up. Has anybody seen any follow up in the MSM?
